what is sugaring?
Sugaring is a method of hair removal that has been in use since 1900 BC. It is made with sugar, water, and lemon juice, and cooked into the consistency of caramel. Lemon juice is added to the mixture for its acidity, which breaks up the fructose and glucose and gives the sugar a smooth, non-crystalline structure.
BENEFITS OF SUGARING VS. WAXING
SUGARING IS IDEAL FOR SENSITIVE SKIN! Sugar is naturally anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic. There are no preservatives, resins, parabens, fragrances or dyes. Traditional wax contains all those additives and can cause reactions in sensitive skin purely due to its ingredient make-up.
SUGARING IS LESS PAINFUL & LASTS LONGER
Okay, sugaring is still pulling the hair out from the root but most people find it less painful for the following reasons:
Sugar does not stick to the skin like wax does
Sugar removes the hair according to the natural hair growth which puts less strain on the skin
Sugar is just slightly warmed and there isn't any risk of burning the skin
Sugar is a hypoallergenic natural healer of the skin and wax damages fine tissue cells
Results generally last up to six weeks. The hair can be removed when it is shorter, at about 8-10 days of growth, unlike the 3-4 weeks of growth that waxing requires.
